To provide teachers with knowledge, skills and teaching methods to help pupils: • become well informed about possible solutions to the global challenges we face • be equipped to assess actions that can address global issues • engage in making choices about actions that we as individuals can take.
By the end of the course participants will: • Have a deeper understanding of the global challenges facing us and the interrelationship of issues of equity, fairness and sustainable futures. • Be equipped with skills, knowledge and activities that will enable pupils to create technically realistic visions of a sustainable future for Britain, within a global context. • Know where to access relevant information to keep teacher and pupils’ knowledge base updated and be able to critique sources of information. • Be aware of the opportunities to embed the activities into the curriculum.
Develop skills and acquire contexts to challenge assumptions and enable critical thinking in the field of global learning. Embed awareness of how our actions impact globally now and in the future. Develop an informed, solutions based approach to global learning and ideas for activities to embed this into the curriculum in a variety of contexts.
KS2 and KS3

Curriculum development; Development of specific subject (i.e. Maths, English etc.) or curriculum area; Teaching and learning; Leadership and management; Pupil behaviour and values
The trainers are qualified and experienced teachers who have delivered the elements of this course to a wide variety of teacher and pupil groups. They have many years experience of integrating global development issues into teaching and and developing activities on sustainability.
