This course will make use of a range of stories from around the world, and explore how they can support global learning, literacy, community cohesion and SMSC.
At the end of the course, teachers will have developed effective and appropriate strategies for using stories to support children’s engagement with global issues and cultural understanding, including complex and controversial issues.
Teachers will be more confident, and will have adopted new strategies, which enable them to use story effectively - and with appropriate sensitivity – as a means of supporting children’s developing understanding of themselves and the world, while raising literacy standards.
