Global Learning Programme

Funding & CPD

How to get GLP funding?

All state-funded schools in England that teach Key Stages 2 and 3 can access to up to £500-worth of funding* to use on a wide range of CPD opportunities. Learn how GLP CPD can benefit your school.

The deadline to book onto GLP-funded CPD* is 29 March 2018, and courses must be attended by 1 June 2018.

To get access to this funding a school must be registered for the GLP. Registration is free and takes just a few minutes. A member of staff must then complete an online questionnaire that tells us about any global learning work already going on in school (no prior experience is required). This will automatically trigger the release of the funding to redeem against GLP-approved CPD, and will also generate the creation of a personalised School Action Plan – providing guidance on possible next steps, customised to each school's needs.

Join the thousands of schools already registered and sign up for the GLP today!

A wide range of CPD is available from local and national providers. Options range from inset days, to workshops, to in-school and online training, so you can find something that suits your school’s requirements. Some of the most popular courses attended so far with GLP funding include Philosophy 4 Children (P4C) and the Global Teacher Award, as well as courses on ‘British values’ and human rights. Courses focused on the curriculum are also available, as well as those that cover specific topics such as sustainability. See our CPD Calendar for the full range of options on both fixed and flexible dates (including in-school and online CPD).

The Whole School Audit and your School Action Plan will help you decide which CPD offers to attend, but you can also read our top 5 tips for booking your CPD, and get guidance on the types of CPD available and the providers offering it. You can also find out more about organising bespoke CPD offered by providers.

In addition to funding for CPD and the personalised action plan, the GLP provides a wealth of support, including an abundance of free resources, the opportunity to access free online trainingcurriculum and subject guidance, as well as support as part of a national network.
