Explore gender equality on the World Day of Social Justice 09 February 2018

20 February is the annual celebration of the World Day of Social Justice. Social justice brings together concepts of fairness, equality and human rights. A socially just society is one in which everyone has equal opportunities and is treated fairly, irrespective of class, wealth, gender or race. And in the centenary of the Women’s vote, why not take this opportunity to explore the global issues surrounding gender equality with your pupils?

Holocaust Memorial Day 2018 11 January 2018

27 January is Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD), marking the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp, in 1945. It provides an opportunity to reflect on the Holocaust as well as on subsequent genocides, and to consider the importance of respecting diversity today. The theme this year is ‘The power of words?’ – how language has been used in the past, as well as how it is used in the present day.

Claim your funding for CPD – book by 29 March 2018! 15 December 2017

With the extension of the Global Learning Progamme (GLP) into 2018, the deadline for schools in England to get funding for CPD* through the GLP was extended. But you only have one term left to claim it! All state-funded schools in England that teach Key Stages 2 and 3 have until 29 March 2018 to get access to up to £500-worth of GLP e-credit funding* to use on a wide range of CPD opportunities.

World Toilet Day 2017 10 November 2017

World Toilet Day is promoted annually by the United Nations on 19 November to raise awareness and inspire action about improving sanitation worldwide. World Toilet Day is part of the campaign for the world to reach Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6, Global Goal 6, by 2030: ‘Ensure access to water and sanitation for all’, by making sure everyone has access to a safely-managed household toilet.

World Cities Day 2017 26 October 2017

World Cities Day is on 31 October. The general theme of World Cities Day is ‘Better City, Better Life’, while each year a different sub-theme is selected, to either promote successes of urbanisation, or address specific challenges resulting from urbanisation.
