Aims of the course:

Present the aims of GLP to NQTs and provide them with a strong basis for their understanding and appreciation of what global learning is and how to identify opportunities to use this approach. They will be challenged to consider their view of the world and how this impacts upon their understanding of global learning. A wealth of resources and signposting will be shared with delegates.

Expected outcomes of the course:

Teachers will be able to more confidently discuss and explore global learning in the context of their school. They will also be able to more confidently identify opportunities to deliver the national curriculum via the 'golden thread' of global learning.

Embedding global learning in your teaching:

This course will enable teachers at the start of their careers to use a range of resources and strategies to support and embed global learning at classroom level. Teachers will feel more confident discussing global learning and sharing resources as well as knowing where to access further support and resources.

Alison Hooper is Headteacher of Egerton Primary School, an Expert Centre for GLP. She co-delivers all GLP training with her GLobal Learning Lead teacher. She is currently in her dissertation year of her MA Development Education and Global Learning.
