Aims of the course:

• To introduce participants to what Human Rights are and how they can be used as a practical, effective and coherent approach to deliver the GLP Whole School Framework. • To provide participants with practical ideas how to develop a whole school Human Rights approach to deliver the GLP Whole School Framework. • To raise overall achievement through a coherent whole school approach to global learning.

Expected outcomes of the course:

Participants will learn: • What Human Rights are and how they provide a coherent framework for a whole school approach to Global Learning. • Practical ideas to develop a sustainable Human Rights Framework for a whole school approach to Global Learning in your school.

Embedding global learning in your teaching:

By using a Human Rights framework for a whole school approach to Global Learning, School leaders will be better able to deliver Global Learning to their schools exactly because it will be based upon shared and agreed Global principles. School leaders will be able to present Global Learning to their school community as something truly ‘global’ and drawing upon international, rather than local, criteria and standards.

This is a workshop and briefing session for teachers and student rights ambassadors (KS3) to prepare for a workshop for 120 pupils (60am, 60pm) tor all the participating schools to take place March. Schools involved: Endeavour (expert centre), Harrow Way Community Secondary, Knights Enham Junior, Roman Way Primary, and Compton C of E Primary, The cost is £150 total, not per school.
