Celebrate World Book Day on 1 March 2018 with this FREE resource from the Global Learning Programme (GLP).
March is Women’s History Month, with International Women's Day taking place on 8 March. Following the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage, the Global Learning Programme (GLP) has created this FREE resource to help your pupils celebrate the progress made by women around the world, and to remember that there is still work to be done.
Fairtrade Fortnight 2018 (26 February to 11 March) aims to help people to understand the principles of ‘fair trade’, and how trade can sometimes be unfair to some producers in developing countries.
20 February is the annual celebration of the World Day of Social Justice. Social justice brings together concepts of fairness, equality and human rights. A socially just society is one in which everyone has equal opportunities and is treated fairly, irrespective of class, wealth, gender or race. And in the centenary of the Women’s vote, why not take this opportunity to explore the global issues surrounding gender equality with your pupils?
Looking for new ideas to support National Storytelling Week and your literacy teaching throughout 2018? The GLP offers free resources, case studies, curriculum support and funded CPD.*
27 January is Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD), marking the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp, in 1945. It provides an opportunity to reflect on the Holocaust as well as on subsequent genocides, and to consider the importance of respecting diversity today. The theme this year is ‘The power of words?’ – how language has been used in the past, as well as how it is used in the present day.
With the extension of the Global Learning Progamme (GLP) into 2018, the deadline for schools in England to get funding for CPD* through the GLP was extended. But you only have one term left to claim it! All state-funded schools in England that teach Key Stages 2 and 3 have until 29 March 2018 to get access to up to £500-worth of GLP e-credit funding* to use on a wide range of CPD opportunities.
If you've been part of a GLP network and have attended GLP-approved CPD with your e-credits, we would like to help you progress further with your global learning journey. To help you do this, we're offering you the opportunity to receive additional funding of up to £500-worth of extra e-credits* to spend on even more GLP-approved CPD!
